Doris Winlock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home - Bardstown on May 24, 2024.
Doris E. Winlock, age 88 passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Doris was known for her love of cats. She had a number of cats over her lifetime that provided her with great companionship. She was fond of a number of different animals, including the raccoons that she would feed off of her front porch (directly from her hand) and the birds that she would watch from her kitchen window. She enjoyed her time outside and especially loved having a garden to tend to. When it was cooler outside, she liked completing word puzzles and playing solitaire. She always made sure she had plenty of candy on hand to satisfy her massive sweet tooth.
Doris's most important thing to her in this world was her love for her children and grandchildren. She always looked forward to their visits where they got to spend time catching up and laughing with one another. Her house was filled with pictures of all of these people she cared so much for and of all the memories throughout the years.
A private Graveside Service for the family will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Hopewell Cemetery, 3707 Hopewell Rd., Louisville, KY 40299 with Rev. Barry Coomer officiating.
She will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: daughter. Angela Decker (David); son, Robert Winlock (Patty); and grandchildren, Taylor Decker, Cody Decker, Tiffany Goodlett (Brent), Austin Winlock (Sophia), Donny Thompson (Stephanie), and Michael Thompson (Shanna). Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Palmer Moody, Sr. and Lottie Potts Moody; siblings, Leroy Moody, Palmer Moody, Jr., and Gloria Wojcik and her granddaughter, Faith Winlock.
