Dorotha Louise "Dot" Eden

Dorotha Louise "Dot" Eden, 91, of Harrah, passed from this life on Friday, November 25, 2022, at St. Anthony's Hospital of Oklahoma City. Dot was born October 30, 1931, in Lutie, Oklahoma, to Charles Christopher Smith and Martha Ellen (Lucas) Smith. She graduated as Salutatorian from Panola High School in 1949 and was voted Most Likely to Succeed. She was quite a basketball player for Panola High. She continued playing basketball and took up bowling in her adult years.
Dot married Richard "Dick" Eden on August 11, 1960, in Oklahoma City. They had four sons together whom they loved very much. Dot was primarily a homemaker but also worked as a secretary for Life Christian Church, National Tank Company, ACF Wrigley and for a law firm. She was an outstanding member and true pillar of faith at Grace Church in Choctaw and was formerly a member of the Harrah United Methodist Church. She was a longtime youth director of the Harrah UMC and also organized the church booth for Harrah Days. Dot was known for her gifts of hospitality and delicious cooking, women's Bible studies, and prayer groups. She was a tremendous planner for meals and decorations for groups small or large. She loved to spend time reading her Bible and was both a director and member of Women's Aglow International prayer group. Dot loved Praise and Worship and also reveled in the old-time hymns especially in her latter years. She enjoyed all sorts of craft projects and was especially skilled with ceramics.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, a son Charles Richard Eden, and all of her siblings: sisters Irene Smith and Lorene Carter, and brothers Leslie, Lester, Charles and Marvin.
Those left to honor her memory and mourn her passing include her son Mike Eden and his wife Kelly of Dallas, Texas; son David Eden and his wife Andrea of Harrah, Oklahoma; son Steve Eden and his wife Stacy of Harrah, Oklahoma; and grandchildren Noel, Caleb, Joshua, Amanda, Erich and Christian Eden.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Grace Church of Choctaw. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery of Harrah. Pastor Paul Whitlock and Brian Cannon will officiate.
Friends may pay their respects 9:00 am- 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
