Dorothea (Dottie) was born Dorothea Gertrude Landman on July 31st, 1933 in Longbeach, CA., to immigrant parents William and Harriet Landman from the Netherlands. She was known for singing all her life, and, once sang for Queen Juliana, the Queen of Holland in April of 1952 on the Queen's visit to California.
Dottie raised eight children in Vancouver, WA, and lived here from 1960 to 1998 until moving to Phoenix, AZ where she passed on Christmas Eve to be with her Heavenly Father who was the foundation of her life.
Dottie was primarily part of the Christian Reform Church as well as the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Meadow Glade as well as in Phoenix. Dottie was happiest singing hymms in Church and could be heard singing around the house and was always smiling and welcoming to everyone. She made the best pies ever! Dottie loved her Dutch culture and looked forward to her momthly gatherings with the "Dutch Ladies" who gathered for amazing foods and conversations.
Dottie leaves behind 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and, 19 great grandchildren with her own 8 children.
Dottie had numerous stepchildren and grandchildren with the Warner family of Ridgefield with her husband Bernie Warner who passed in 2006 in Phoenix. Bernie was a WWII Vet as well. Dottie loved all of her children and grandchildren and loved making big family dinners and hosting meals with family.
Dottie will be layed to rest on January 25th, 2025 at 10AM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Rather than gifts of any kind, Dottie's wishes would be to pray "with" your family in honor of her love for Jesus. Prayer was a huge part of Dottie's life, please spend time in prayer with your families honoring Dottie and her love for prayer.
