Dorothea M. Shreiner, 83, of Lititz, and formerly of Mount Joy, died peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Luther Acres Retirement Community. Born in Astoria, New York, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy Emerick Gres. For many years Dorothea worked in the manufacturing division for AMP Incorporated, Lancaster, and Warner Lambert, Lititz. Dorothea’s interests included: flower gardening, watching professional Golf, and Ice Skating events, Jeopardy Quiz Shows, working on cross word puzzles, and playing Pinochle. Throughout her life Dorothea valued her “Quiet Time” where every day she would spend reading many chapters in her Bible, and a dedicate time in prayer. She was a devoted and caring mother, and grandmother; and cherished the times she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons: Keith R. husband of Francine Shreiner of Elizabethtown, Kerry L. husband of Rubina Shreiner of Adamstown, MD, two grandchildren: Kristen wife of Austin Taylor, Emily Shreiner, one great granddaughter, Alexandria Taylor, and Dorethea’s former husband, Richard L. Shreiner of Mount Joy. Preceding her in death is a daughter, Lori Ann Shreiner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dorothea’s Memorial Service in the Community Room at Luther Acres Retirement Community, 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz, on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Dorothea’s memory to: Luthercare Caring Fund, 600 East Main Street, Lititz, PA 17543, or Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
