Dorothy Lee Mason Boiter, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Compass Healthcare and Rehab in Mebane, NC with her daughter by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barto and Iola Mason of Joanna, SC; her husband of 50 years, Charles Daniel Boiter; infant sons, Charles David Boiter and Mark Wayne Boiter and most recently, son, Ronald Mason Boiter, 69 of Simpsonville, SC.
Dorothy “Dot” was born in Meridian, MS on October 7, 1933. The family later settled in Joanna, SC. After graduating from Clinton High School, she attended business school in Columbia, SC. There she met and married Charles D. Boiter. Dot spent most of her years as a homemaker and caring for her family. She enjoyed playing cards, working on puzzles and watching game shows.
Dot is survived by her daughter, Carolyn B. Rainbow (Bryan) of Burlington, NC and five granddaughters: Meredith R. Penley (Ashley) of Cotacachi, Ecuador, Jessica R. McKenzie (Justin) of Hendersonville, NC, Lindsay R. Garner (Robert) of Burlington, NC, Michelle B. Brown (David) of Stephens City, VA, Savannah Boiter of Greenville, SC and twelve great grandchildren.
A graveside service to celebrate Dot’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Graceland East Memorial Park in Simpsonville, SC by Rev. Raymond D. Burrows and Rev. Bryan R. Rainbow. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Temple, 123 Columbia Ave., Greenville, SC 29617.
