Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was raised in Duralde, Louisiana and later moved to Oberlin where she and her husband, Andrew, raised their family. Dorothy was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She worked for many years as a custodian before her retirement. She loved the outdoors, cooking, and being with people. She would bring biscuits every Wednesday to the Welfare office in Oberlin. In her 95 years, Dorothy always enjoyed doing for others. She lived a beautiful long life, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to mourn Dorothy's loss include her loving daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Chapman of Oberlin; two grandchildren, Barrett Chapman and wife, Nikki and Beth Wheeler; four great grandchildren, Logan Chapman, Mikayla Monk and husband, Fig, Arte and Alease Craft; and two great-great grandchildren, Haisleigh Chapman and Gracelynn Monk.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Hillary and Marie Fontenot; her husband, Andrew Chapman; two sons, Steve and Dennis Chapman; one brother, Ferdie Fontenot; three sisters, Carrie, Marjorie, and Germain Fontenot.
