Dorothy Irene Clark, 98, of Connellsville, passed into the arms of her loving Savior on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021. She was born on May 12, 1923, in Springfield Township, Connellsville. She was the daughter of the late Scott and Mary Jane (Shaffer) Ritenour. She married the late Harry Clark Sr. on Aug. 2, 1941. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Connellsville. She was a former member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church for 40+ years where she taught Sunday School, played the piano and sang in the choir.
She was a member of the Normalville Senior Citizens and the Shilo Lodge 103. Dorothy enjoyed traveling throughout the USA and Canada. She especially enjoyed bus trips. She loved sewing and made many beautiful wedding gowns. She also enjoyed singing and could play several different musical instruments. Dorothy formerly worked at Anchor Hocking Cap Division in South Connellsville for 12 years. Then she went on to graduate from Maison Fredric School of Cosmetology in Uniontown. She was the former owner and operator of Dorothy's Cut and Curl for over 40 years. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children: Harry (Barbara) Clark Jr. of North East, Pa., Linda Pritts of Washington, W. Va., Ronald (Barbara) Clark of Connellsville, and Gregory (Jane) Clark of Commerce, Ga.; 11grandchildren, Carla (Timothy) Ansell, Joby Clark, Shelley Clark (Jacob) Levy, Kobi (Chris) Grabowski, Heather Hakel-Lam (Christopher), James, Jason and Jeremy Clark, Zachary (Laura), Nathaniel and Caleb Clark. Also left to honor her memory are 17 great-grandchildren, Aubriana (Dustin) Willey, Autumn, Aelijah, Alyiah, Alivia, Avonlea, Aram, Ava, Asher, Chi, Avery, and Addison Ansell, Abigail Hakel-Garcia, Tyler Grabowski, Austin Clark, Ruth and Elise Clark; two great-great grandchildren, Kameron and Kylan Woody; a brother, J. Harold (Elaine) Ritenour of Waynesburg; also, a number of much loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Harry Clark Sr. (Nov. 9, 2011); brothers, John (1964), Raymond (2009) and Woodrow (2018) Ritenour; son-in-law, Carl E. Pritts (2017). Family and friends are cordially invited to the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsvile, PA. where visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11 from noon to 1 p.m., which will be the hour of service in the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Maley officiating, assisted by Miss Martie Cain. Committal service and interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Her family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks for the care and kindness shown to our Mother by Amedisys Home Health and Amedisys Hospice.
