Dorothy T. Clermont

Dorothy Theresa Clermont, affectionately known as "Dot" or "Dotty," passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Pinnacle Health and Rehab in North Berwick, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 4, 1938, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Alfred and Yvonne (Crawford) Guay. She was a proud graduate of St. Bernard's High School.

Dorothy married the love of her life, George Clermont, on July 13, 1957, at Immaculate Conception Church, and together they raised two children in Fitchburg. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Dorothy's life revolved around her faith and her family. She was a dedicated member of her parish community and a woman of deep kindness and quiet strength.

Dot and George shared many passions throughout their marriage-most memorably their love of ballroom dancing. She also adored decorating for the holidays and curling up with a good book, especially those by John Grisham. She was an enthusiastic baker, well-known for her famous potato chip cookies, and she delighted in sharing them with family and friends.

She was also remarkably good at navigating maps, often surprising those around her with her natural sense of direction.

Above all, Dorothy cherished her family. She adored being a grandmother and great-grandmother, sharing stories of her family's history, and creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Along with her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, George Clermont. She is survived by her children, Annette Clough and her husband, Brian, of North Berwick, and Gary Clermont and his wife, Tina, of Derry; her grandchildren, Amanda Paré, Jennifer Clermont, Christopher Clermont, Beverly Lagueux, Brenda Gallo, Michael Cabral, and Cynthia Richardson; and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 162 Agamenticus Road, South Berwick, Maine. All are invited to a luncheon taking place in the church hall immediately after the mass.

Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, George, at St. Bernard Cemetery in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, at a later date.
