Dorothy, you are one of the sweetest, most caring, most selfless people I have ever met!! Thank you for sharing your home with me for a semester while I was at St Ben's! I will always be thankful for the love you generously gave to me while being so far away from home. Your home was so comforting at a time when I needed it most! John and I are both thankful for your love while we were at St Ben's and St John! Ever since the semester I lived with you we have been like family . You even came up to Brainerd (Gull Lake) with the entire Grundhoefer family. Thanks for sharing your cozy home always stocked with chocolate chip and m & m cookies in the freezer free for the taking. I'll never forget your wonderful cooking..BBQ ribs and 7 layer salad and more. You even invited me parents and family up for a dinner party. There is nobody ...NOBODY..as caring as you!!!! I will always miss you and thank God for you. I love you so much my sweet, sweet Dorothy. Finally, your wish has come true and you are home in the loving arms of God! Until we meet again..you are so close in my heart! I LOVE YOU DEARLY FOREVER AND EVER!! Mary Grundhoefer Langan

When I met Dorothy it was to rent a room in her house during my summer break from college. She was so sweet and with her polio I could see she needed some extra help. I thought the arrangement would work out with the reasonable rent and someone who I would feel good about helping. I could tell she was isolated not being able to drive. She was a hard worker making sure her house was always immaculate! I can see her in her knees dusting, vacuuming and otherwise tidying up every nook and cranny of her little house. She even did some lawn work with the limited capabilities she had. Life moved on for me but I would still go back and see her, renting an additional summer from her. We kept in touch over the years, although in recent years it was harder to do so. Her capabilities diminished as the years wore on and she had a number of moves to apartments and then long term care. This became hard on her but her friend Betty never left her side. What a blessing Betty was who took care of her every need. Dorothy, you will be missed for your kindness and all the wonderful things you did for other people!
Love you!

DOROTHY was a classmate of mine at the St. Joseph Grade School many years ago. MAY SHE REST IN PEACE!
