Dorothy Crawford, age 100, of Gladwin, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. She was born on July 11, 1925, the daughter of David and Eunice Emma Alfreda (Hicks) Collins, in Sanilac, MI. Dorothy graduated Cum Laude from Caro High School in 1942. In later years, she continued her education at Mid-Michigan Community College taking courses in Finance and Management. On July 12, 1944, she married the love of her life Keith Crawford. Together they shared 63 years filled with love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 2007.
In November of 1951, Dorothy and Keith moved from Caro to Gladwin. At an early age, she came to faith in Jesus Christ and was an active member of Gladwin First United Methodist Church for many years. She was also a member of a Michigan State Extension club and played an active role in local county activities. In 1961, Dorothy became employed by First State Savings Bank, now PNC Bank, in Gladwin and worked there for 27 years until retiring in 1988 as Assistant Vice President and Personal Officer. Since the death of her husband in 2007, she enjoyed several years of residence at Antler Arms Senior Center in Gladwin and her final 6 months at The Brook of Gladwin.
Dorothy was a woman of many passions. She loved bowling, reading, and was an amazing cook. She enjoyed music and loved singing.
She is survived by her sons: David (Linda) Crawford and Brian (Lenore) Crawford; daughters: Janet Crawford, Diane Smith, and Ruth (Carl) Schalm; daughter-in-law: Carol Crawford; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Keith Crawford; son: Alan Crawford; parents: David and Eunice; sisters: Wilda, Betty, and Thelma; and brothers: Clare, Asel, and Milton.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
