Brant Funeral Service - SciotovilleDorothy Kline Deemer, age 90, died at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Courtyard in Wheelersburg.
Born on January 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Forrest Kline (1983) and Dorothy Curry Kline (1981). Dorothy was a 1953 graduate of Portsmouth East High School and proud member of the East High School National Honor Society and the Junior Cup awardee in 1952. She also enjoyed reading and cross search books.
Dorothy was an employee of the Scioto County Auditor’s office for many years and served three terms as the Scioto County Auditor until her retirement. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her husband, the late Ronald Deemer (2010) and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Scioto County Democrat Party Hall of Fame and won several awards during her time as the Scioto County Auditor. She was also awarded the Scioto County League of Women Voters Impact award in 2012.
Surviving are two sons, Steve (Ronda) Sturgill and Scott (Patty) Sturgill and was preceded in death by her daughter Dottie Miller (2018). She was also preceded in death by her sister Betty (Robert) McCann and survived by her sister, Patricia Kline. Also surviving are stepchildren, Cindy (Jim) Parkes and Elizabeth Deemer; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan) Sturgill Morrow, Andrea Sturgill, Andrew (Kristin) Sturgill, Kelsey (Ashes) Stryffe, Abigail Sturgill, Patrick Sturgill, Jennifer Nietz, step grandchildren, Jessica Parkes and Eli (Marissa) Parkes; great-grandchildren, Boo Sturgill, Aylin Morrow, Olivia Keaton, Scarlett Sturgill, Odin Stryffe, Atlas Stryffe; step great-grandchild, Mason Parkes and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Bob Morrow officiating.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on that same Saturday.
