Dot Overstreet, 86, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away after complications from a stroke on Friday, October 3, 2025.
She was born on August 10, 1939, to the late Roy and Annie Underwood. Dot was a homemaker and a wonderful mom to three children. She worked in a variety of jobs but personally loved her jobs as a floral designer, interior decorator and a model.
She will be remembered by her smile, kindness, zest for life and dancing as well as her fashion style and decorating. She and her late husband Aubrey Overstreet donated many hours for volunteer and charity fund raisers for the Shriners Children’s Hospital. She was active in many social groups including the La De Da’s, Roanoke Newcomers, Roanoke Valley Shag Club and Roanoke Valley Ski/Travel Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Gearheart Wade, her son Todd Alan Gearheart and granddaughter Torea Gearheart. Siblings: Thomas Alvin Underwood and spouse Marilyn Underwood; Roy Wellington Underwood and partner Bonnie Spangler; Janice Louise Jones and Donald Ray Underwood and spouse, Carolyn C. Underwood; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by countless friends and coworkers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Nathan Scott Gearheart and her loving husband Aubrey L. Overstreet.
