Dorothy Evalyn (Reynolds) Dunn December 16, 1924 — February 11, 2024 Dorothy Evalyn (Reynolds) Dunn passed away from this life on February 11, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society - Colonial Villa in Alma, Nebraska at the age of 99 years and 2 months. She was born on a farm at Bloomington, Nebraska to Earl and Lillian Reynolds in 1924. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1941. Dorothy married Charles William Dunn in 1941 at Hays, Kansas. They lived on a farm at Inavale, Nebraska and were the parents of Linda Lee, Dennis Dwayne, Michael Jon, and Patricia Gayle. The family lived in the town of Bloomington for three years and then moved to the farm southeast of Bloomington in 1950. Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed her family and life on the farm. She loved raising a garden and especially her hybrid irises and roses; she taught herself to read music and play the piano. Dorothy also enjoyed her cats, feeding birds, and raising cattle. The family enjoyed vacation trips every summer to most of the western states. Dorothy and Charles loved spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Dennis and his wife Karan (Polzkill) of Lincoln, Nebraska; Michael and his wife Pamela (Gruwell) of Naponee, Nebraska; and two daughters, Linda and her husband John Hadley of Syracuse, Nebraska; Patricia and her husband Everett Goebel of Hastings, nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, brothers Walter and Franklin (Ruth) Reynolds, sister Verda (Marvin) Covey, in-laws Ed (Phyllis) Dunn, Gene (Eunice) Dunn and Barb (Dunn) Wally Bean. Funeral services will be at Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Scott Randall officiating. Visitation with family 1 hour before Service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bloomington, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
