Dorothy H. Feigin

Dorothy (Dot) Feigin, 91, of Norwalk, CT passed away the evening of March 9, 2023 of natural causes at an Assisted Living Facility in Norwalk, CT.
She was born in Altoona, PA on March 5, 1932 the daughter of the late Verna and Frank Gottshall. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael D. Feigin (2019) and brother's Frank, Charles, Raymond and Ronald. Also a grandson, Brandon in 2009 (CA). She is survived by a brother Richard (Dickie) Gottshall (NH) and three children, daughters Kema Whelan (NY), Keah Shields (NV) and a son Keal Evans of Norwalk. Dorothy was also a proud grandmother of five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Dorothy graduated from Altoona High School (class of 1950) and quickly moved to Harrisburg, PA to pursue her passion in Nursing. She was a graduate of Harrisburg Hospital receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse and later received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, and soon was on her way. She made the "Rounds" in many areas of nursing, working the dreaded 11PM to 7 AM shift in order to get home to her three children to get them off to school, sleep and then back at it again. She soon found her area of expertise in geriatric medicine. She was the Director of Nursing at many locations, but soon rose to be the Administrator of Westport Manor/Mediplex of Westport as well as Mediplex of Darien. She was there for well over two decades and touched many hearts. She had love and compassion for the elderly and she was very well respected in the community.
In the late 90's and early 2000's, Dorothy and Mike traveled the world, Russia, Egypt, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and all over Europe just to name a few, they saw it all. Never letting grass grow under their feet. We all know you are united once again, now, and for always. May the wind always be at your back – wishing you fair winds and following seas. We love you.
