Dorothy was born on January 22, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of Bernard and Virginia Zolna. She attended North Pierce, Saint Galls School and Riverside High School in Milwaukee.
On August 27, 1949 she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Gradt.
Dorothy was employed as a customer service clerk at Arlens and Pill & Puff, where her kindness radiated as she helped others. Dorothy also proudly served as a Girl Scout leader. After Bill's retirement in 1994, they moved from Milwaukee to Sheboygan Falls to be closer to their family.
Following retirement and their move North, Dorothy enjoyed her membership with a local Red Hatter's Club.
Dorothy was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls.
Dorothy was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and loved cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks. Dorothy's passions include reading, watching The Young and the Restless and Judge Judy, and enjoying the outdoors. Dorothy spent many of her days shopping, going to estate sales, and just chit chatting. Her greatest pleasure came while spending time with her family. The last advice she shared, "Be kind to each other and pray every day."
