Dorothy Grieve

Dorothy Grieve, 55, of North Attleboro, passed away on March 3, 2026, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born on March 30, 1970, she was the beloved daughter of the late Walter H. Baxter and Rosemary (Smith) Baxter.

Dorothy was truly one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome and cared for. If someone didn't have a place to go for the holidays, Dorothy made sure they had a place at her table. If someone needed help, she found a way to give it. Her home, her time, and her heart were always open to others.

Her greatest pride and joy were her three daughters, whom she raised with unwavering love, support, and strength. She went above and beyond for her family in every way imaginable - often changing her work schedule, sacrificing sleep, and staying up late into the night just to make sure everything was perfect for the people she loved. Becoming a grandmother brought her an entirely new kind of joy. She adored her grandchildren, and shared a close and playful bond with her granddaughter Juliana, with whom she spent countless special moments filled with laughter, creativity, and love. Though her time with her grandson Gabriel was just beginning, her love for him was immediate and immeasurable.

That same compassion carried into her professional life. Dorothy's career was always centered around helping others. Over the years she provided compassionate care to individuals with special needs that required daily support. She later worked as a driving instructor for many years, helping others gain confidence and independence behind the wheel. Most recently, Dorothy helped families navigate and obtain services for their children, continuing her lifelong commitment to supporting and advocating for others.

Dorothy brought a special kind of magic to celebrations. She believed every birthday, holiday, and milestone deserved to be unforgettable. Known for being "extra," she poured her creativity and love into every detail. Whether it was elaborate holiday gatherings, themed birthday parties, or handmade projects, Dorothy's thoughtfulness turned ordinary moments into lasting memories.

She was playful, fun-loving, and known for her humor. A natural jokester with a contagious laugh, Dorothy brightened the lives of those around her. She cherished family game nights, which were always filled with laughter and love.

Dorothy's compassion, generosity, and vibrant spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. She showed her family what it means to love deeply, give freely, and always show up for the people who matter most.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Tuezdae Grieve, Andrea Grieve, and Crystal Grieve; and her beloved grandchildren, Juliana Feetham and Gabriel Comi Grieve; as well as many close friends, extended family members, and chosen family who were fortunate to know and love her.

Dorothy's warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit created a lifetime of beautiful memories, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter H. Baxter and Rosemary (Smith) Baxter, her sister Leota Baxter and her brother Walter S. Baxter.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

Relatives and friends are warmly welcome to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. Burial will immediately follow at Norfolk Cemetery.
