Dorothy Jo Hiniker

Dorothy Jo Hiniker, age 59, of Franklin, and previously Mankato, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the CentraCare – Redwood Falls Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Dorothy graduated from Loyola High School and attended Mankato State University.

Dorothy had a gift for making heartfelt connections with all who knew her, seeing the good in everyone she met. She loved animals, big and small, especially dogs, cats, and birds. She enjoyed coloring, drawing, crocheting, country music, and socializing. With a resilient spirit, Dorothy persevered through many challenges. The gift of her presence made the world a better place. Dorothy will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her siblings, Gerry (Linda), Steve (Julie), LuAnn (Kevin), Alan (Brenda), and Mary Jane (Joe); nieces and nephews (great nieces and nephews), Jason & Carolyn (Carson, Dalton), Jesse & Ranae (Madisyn, Megan) Robby & Michelle, Jared & Carmen, Sarah & Travis (Dawson, Camdyn, Brock, Grady), Emily & Chaz (McKenna), Kristine & Evan (Mitchell, Harlan), Christopher & Elizabeth (Adelynn, Isabella).

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Phyllis Hiniker, sister, Elaine Hiniker, and great nephew, Tyler.

A family service will be held at a later date.
