Funeral Services for Dorothy Ann Hollowell are Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery, Atwood.
Mrs. Hollowell, 84 years old, died at her residence on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. She was born in Milan on February 13, 1940, to William Marvin and Wilma Bartholomew Jones. She is a member of First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for the children and then for the Adult Women’s class. She sold real estate at Century 21 with Cody Adams and then worked as a bank teller at McKenzie Banking Company for 18 years before retiring. During her retirement she enjoyed reading, traveling and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play ball.
She was married to her husband Dwayne for 67 years and she is survived by her husband, children Ann (Ricky) Anderson of McKenzie, Mike ( Jan) Hollowell of Tullahoma, and Billy (Angie) Hollowell of McKenzie, sister Judy Bates of Bradford, seven grandchildren Carrie (James) Wilhoit, Josh Hollowell, Leigha (Clint) Epley, Joey (Autumn) Anderson, Scottie (Kim) Anderson, Daniel (Amy) Hollowell and Beth (Allen) Ownby and 16 great-grandchildren Jackson Wilhoit, Charlotte Wilhoit, Ayden Hollowell, Caroline Epley, Parker Epley, Hayes Epley, Ty Anderson, Lane Anderson, Liam Anderson, Tripp Hollowell, Neyland Hollowell, Bonnie Hollowell, Cayden Ownby, Lawson Ownby, Grayson Ownby and Weston Ownby.
In Lieu of flowers please make memorials to First Baptist Youth program or the new children’s wing.
