Dorothy Isaacson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Coon Rapids on Nov. 26, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

February 22, 1942-November 24, 2025

Isaacson, Dorothy Ann (nee Manson), age 83, of Coon Rapids, MN passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, surrounded by family.

Preceded in death by parents Alfred and Lucille Manson and husband, Gaylan Isaacson.

Survived by children Maria Sullivan (Jim), Michele Isais, Michael Isaacson; grandchildren Megan Leniart (Jack), Rachel Etienne (Jared) and Carlos Isais (Trynity Antrim); great grandson Callum Leniart: sister MaryJo Hoch (Dennis) and cat Shadow.

Born February 22, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN. She attended St. Benedict's High School graduating in 1960. She married her husband Gaylan in 1963. They raised their 3 children in Coon Rapids where she lived until her passing. Her most significant position was as a bookkeeper at Anoka Hennepin credit Union for 19 years, retiring in 2002. She loved interacting with the members and made many friends there. She later took a position as front desk receptionist at Epiphany Pines where she loved connecting with the residents and organizing activities with them. In her later years, with less mobility, she continued to bring laughter and comfort to many and was jokingly referred to as the therapist. Dorothy was known for saying, "Feel free to call me anytime night or day," and many people took her up on it. She listened, advised and counseled, sharing her faith freely.

Dorothy lived her life with faith as her focus and strength. She made pilgrimages to the Holy Land and Medjugorje. Catholicism was important to her, and she lived her life accordingly. Her solid religious foundation allowed her to endure many physical sufferings and illnesses without complaint. She offered it up for the poor souls in purgatory.

Dorothy had a light-hearted side and loved to banter, putting others at ease; she could make anyone laugh. She took great joy in her grandchildren, her books and her cat.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2nd from 5-7pm at Washburn McReavy in Coon Rapids. Funeral mass Wednesday, December 3rd, 10:30 at Epiphany Catholic Church in Coon Rapids.
