Dorothy Aline Janssen age 100 a daughter of Louis J. Theesfeld and Vallie Lourine neé Vaughn was called to her heavenly home on November 17, 2025.

She was a former resident of the Buckley and Bayles Lake area. Born in Lyman Twp, near Roberts, IL, baptized on December 21. 1924 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her husband Delmar Janssen, five sisters, Etta Krumwiede, Louise Luhrsen, Lucille Eheart Peters, Emma Rush, Elsie Zytkewick and a brother Lloyd Theesfeld.

Survivors include many loving nieces and nephews, also her spiritual sisters and brothers of Grace Lutheran of Winter Haven, Florida.

After 23 years of farming in the Buckley area, Dorothy and her husband moved to Bayles Lake, Loda. The next 20 years her husband worked at Chanute Field in Rantoul. When her husband retired, they moved to Winter Haven, FL.

Dorothy had been an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley. She had served as secretary of the Ladies Aid, was a member of the Shepherd Club, served on the church library committee and sang for many years in the church choir.

Some of her favorite hobbies were dancing, reading, drawing and painting. She loved to travel and felt fortunate to have seen much of the world by joining tour groups. She took a crash course in "Conversational German" at Parkland College in Champaign to prepare herself for the trip to Northern Germany to look up the many relatives she knew existed but had never seen.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley with Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley. Baier Family Funeral Services, Buckley is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley or an organization of the donor's choice. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.baierfuneralservices.com.
