Dorothy E. “Dotty” Kautz, 95, of Ephrata and Akron, and formerly of New Holland; died peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Wyomissing Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Ann “Mame” Fenninger Myer. Dotty was the loving wife of the late Melvin L. Kautz who died in 2003 following 54 years of marriage. Dotty worked faithfully as a waitress for the former Akron Restaurant for 40 years. Her interests included cross word puzzles, word search books, and traveling with her family to Ormond Beach Florida.
Surviving are four daughters: Barbara, Teresa, Evelyn, Doris, twelve grandchildren, and multiple great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a son, M. Kenneth Kautz, three sisters, and one brother.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dotty’s funeral service at the Ebenezer Evangelical Congregational Church, 23 South State Street, Brownstown, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Tuesday, afternoon from 12:00 PM (Noon), until the time of the service. Knowing that Dotty loved the color purple; the family encourages those that wish to wear purple for her service that day. Interment will be in Bareville Cemetery.
