Affectionately known as "Murr" passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 18, surrounded by loved ones. She was a proud retiree of American Enka/ BASF. After retiring she loved spending the winter months in Florida fishing with her beloved husband until his health declined. She also enjoyed gardening, yard sales, traveling,reading and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Wesley Chesteen, her son Michael Dale Chesteen and his wife Linda Hartsell Chesteen, grandsons Richard David Chesteen and Ryman R Reese, her parents Oscar and Marietta Barnes, brother Steve Barnes, and her sisters Betty Montgomery, Shirley Helton and Gail Gann.
She is survived by her daughter Ann Chesteen Reese and great granddaughter Rylee Reign Reese of the home, her brother Charles Barnes,sister in law Marie Barnes, uncle Carl Garner, granddaughter LeAnne Chesteen, great grandsons Wesley and Andy Chesteen, Grady and Gabriel Boggs, great great grandsons River and Waylon Chesteen and great great granddaughter Nyla Rose Chesteen, many nieces and nephews, her special friends Theresa Lane, Sammi Ball, Judy Gregg,Charlotte Chambers, and her granddaughter in love April Burgess, her special nieces Patricia Cody and Donna Dunn and her church family at Reidtown Community Church.
Per her request no service is planned. The family plans to hold a private memorial service at a later date.
