Dorothy Legan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Omps Funeral Home and Cremation Center - Amherst Chapel on Dec. 15, 2025.
Dorothy (Dottie) Legan, passed away on December 10th, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center, with all her children by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Herbert Legan age 98 in January of 2022. Following the loss of her husband, Dottie moved to Winchester, two doors away from her daughter Karen and her husband. Dottie loved all things "Winchester", with all the activities and local restaurants. Dottie was a huge Washington Redskins (they were never the Commanders to her), and a passionate fan of the Baltimore Orioles. She truly loved her annual Princess Cruise trips to many destinations. Dottie was also very proud of her Hungarian heritage and made the best Chicken Paprikash in the country. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed weekly bingo and visits to Nashville, often sitting front and center to the stage to see her grandson Michael perform.

Dottie is survived by her four children, Lynn, Karen, Mark, and Brian, and her five grandchildren, Michael, Christian, Sanna, Olivia, and Jesse.

A celebration of life will be held later in the spring.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
