Dorothy Jon Zehrung LEWIS

I met Dorothy in 1986 as a new teacher, fresh out of Oberlin. We bonded over our alma mater and our love for playing the piano. I was awed by her ability to play by ear. Dorothy was smart and kind and funny. I'm lucky to have known her.

Dorothy was such a lovely lady. truly gracious and kind, with a wonderful sense of humor. I had the chance to go with her to perform at the nursing homes and she was such a lovey presence. Her love and music touched many lives and always brightened the day for any one she encountered. I will miss her very much. My condolences to all of you who loved her.

Dorothy took me under her wing during my first year of teaching. We moved to Madison Elementary together and worked for 13 years together. She watched my kids grow and was always there when I needed a friend!! I will miss you!
