Dorothy J. Lindquist, age 97, of Waterville, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Hanover Hospital Nursing Home.

Dorothy was born April 27, 1927, in Barnes, to Ernest and Nancy (Bolejack) Clark. She attended Banner School, then Barnes High School, graduating in 1945. Dorothy went on to graduate from Kansas State University with a BSN degree in Elementary Education. Dorothy taught for many years in the Greenleaf and Barnes schools.

She was united in marriage to Raymond L. Lindquist on June 12, 1949, at the Christian Church in Barnes. After her retirement, Ray and Dorothy purchased the lumberyard in Waterville. In 1992 they retired from the lumberyard. They enjoyed traveling and had been to all fifty states and to Europe. They enjoyed spending their winters in Harlingen, Texas, where they met many new friends and she volunteered at the local hospital.

Dorothy loved children. Her hobbies were gardening, reading anything and everything, shopping at any garage sale she could find, and helping out anywhere she could in the community. She also played a large role in her church and taught Sunday School. Anytime someone needed help she was there. Dorothy had a smile everyone remembers.

Dorothy was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Waterville, Hebron Circle, Lutheran Ladies Aide, Waterville Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion Auxiliary of Waterville.

Survivors include her son Randy (Theresa) Lindquist, grandsons Matt and Chris, and great grandson Jonathan, and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Ray, parents Ernest and Nancy Clark, a brother Gaylord Clark and sister Marilyn Gilliland.
