Dorothy Nelson Obituary

She was born April 26, 1943 to Everett and Yvetta Strobel in Advance, Missouri. She loved playing Bingo, card games, and most of all being surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will begin at 2:00pm. Sister Debbie Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Norma Baker and Mary (Lee) Simpson; children, Linda Hunt, Rose Nelson (Chris Hyde), Betty (Gary) Taylor, Terrie (Frank) Garcia, Jerry Nelson, and Carrie Cabello; and multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Yvetta Strobel; former husband, Marion "Gene" Nelson; children, Ricky Jo Nelson, Eugene E. Nelson, Mary Nelson, Raymond Lane, Lecia Seaton; and grandson, Lil Ricky Jo Taylor.
