Dorothy Ann Ossinger
On January 11, 2025, Dorothy Ann Ossinger passed away peacefully in her sleep following a brief hospitalization in Gold Beach, Oregon. She was 81 years old.
Dorothy (Dee) was born October 8, 1943, in Pocatello, Idaho. Dee was the youngest of 5 kids born at the end of the depression. It was a hard life with constant moves for her dad's employment. She graduated early and was in college at a dance when she met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Ossinger.
She and Dick both had a great passion for their Amway business, and this enabled them to travel the world meeting and making new friends and sharing life together. They enjoyed family time, traveling in their motor home, visiting their kids in Australia, Alaska or a nearby beach.
Dee liked sewing, reading and dancing and dinners at the Elks. Every day seemed full, and she was very good at planning and scheduling to meet and see more friends. Most importantly her focus changed, and she came to know the Lord! She loved her church and Bible Study group and even hosted a "Life Group" at their home. These activities were often the highlight of her week.
Dee and Dick had three children. Michelle (Shelly), Richard (Scott) and Shaun, twelve grandkids and 14 great grand kids. She also had many loving nieces and nephews. There were many who had kept in contact with her through the years and dear friends who visited her in the hospital.
Dee worked hard and tried to help her friends and encourage others. She always persevered on a task until it was finished. She loved taking care of Dick and that was the greatest accomplishment of her life being his eyes. This was her purpose everyday before anything else, so it was very hard when he died. Dee will be remembered for her loving faithfulness to her husband Dick, family and friends and to all those who loved and knew her well. Her kids and grandkids that saw her life lived out with grit and determination. Not always easy but Faithful! Well done!
