Dorothy Ann Ross, 93, of Belle Fourche, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on October 24, 2025.
Dorothy was born September 4, 1932 in Gering, Neb. to William and Pauline (Zorn) Yaeger.
She is survived by her children, Alan (Mary) Ross of Sioux Falls, S.D., Barry (Sapna) Ross of Goleta, Calif., Paula (John) Alden of Tucson, Ariz., Dana (Bonnie) Ross of Spearfish, S.D.; her much loved grandchildren, Brian Alden, Nicole Alden, David (Sarah) Ross, Jeff Ross, Ryan Ross, Baden Ross, Matt (Chris) Weigelt, Mike (Kris) Weigelt, Stephanie (Darin) Friese, Joshua Ruffner, Wayne Ruffner and Andy Patterson; many great-grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Franzen of Denver, Colo.; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline Yaeger; father and mother-in-law, George and Katie (Heinbaugh) Ross; husband, James Ross; son, Wade Ross; brothers, William "Bill" Yaeger and Larry Ross; sisters-in-law, Donna (Smith) Yaeger and Donabel (Nickelson) Ross.
Dorothy is loved and cherished and will be missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to St. James Lutheran Church, 1100 Stanley Street, Belle Fourche, SD 57717 and the Compassion Cupboard, PO Box 242, Belle Fourche, SD 57717.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 12 p.m., at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
