Mother Dorothy Ann Sawyer, known to most as "Dot", was born on November 13, 1947, to the late Ellen Miller Sawyer and the late John Albert Sawyer, in Spartanburg, SC.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966. Dorothy worked for Spartanburg Steel for over thirty years. She loved to cook, and one of her specialties was sweet potato pie. She took care of everyone who needed her, and sewing was a gift. Dorothy was a member of Kingdom New Life Apostolic Church and she loved her church. Besides of being"Mother" of the church, she was a member of the Ushers Ministry, Sick and Shut-In Ministry and the Missionary Ministry.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Stella Garris, Carolyn Sawyer, Douglas Sawyer and Betty Miller.

Those left to cherish her memory are: daughters, Demetria Sawyer and Trina Sawyer, both of Spartanburg, SC; son, Jermaine (Shanika) Sawyer of Spartanburg, SC; siblings, Brenda Style of Greensboro, NC and Johnny (Glenda) Sawyer of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Trenae Merritt, Trarisa Merritt, Tyana Merritt, Jasmine Sawyer, Jermia Sawyer, Jermavis Sawyer, Jermaine Sawyer, Kadyen Sawyer, Ja'Leah Sawyer, Lariah Dukes, Jeremiah Sawyer, and Shanetria Sawyer; great-grandchildren, Daphne Wright, Cater Wright, DeMarion Sawyer, Javareus Sawyer, Jayonna Dawkins, and Monie Sawyer; her good friend, Minister Sherry Johnson; and a host of other relatives, church associates and friends.
