Dorothy M. (McQuade) Trotta, 91, of Wakefield and Hampton Beach, NH passed away on June 21, 2018. Born in Lowell, MA she was the daughter of Rose (Carroll) and Hubert McQuade. Dot attended Lowell schools and graduated from St. John's School of Nursing in Lowell with her R.N. degree. She worked as an R.N. at St. John's Hospital in Lowell, New England Medical Center in Boston, Greenview Manor in Wakefield, and in private duty. Additionally, she spent many hours at Crystal Pharmacy in Greenwood, the family business. Dot was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Trotta. Sister of the late Hubert J. McQuade of Lowell. Loving mother of Kathleen Trotta and her husband David Sidebottom of Wakefield and Joseph Trotta and his wife Lynne Zekos of Shrewsbury. "AFS host mother" of Veronika Schandl Handschuh and family of Vienna, Austria. Devoted grandmother of Michael, Jennifer, and Kerri Sidebottom, Paul Trotta, and Stephanie and Joseph Kamataris. Predeceased by infant sons Paul Arthur and Michael Joseph Trotta. Also survived by sisters-in-law Joan McQuade of Lowell and Elta Trotta of Utah and many nieces and nephews. Recent resident of Windsor Place in Wilmington where Dot had many devoted, loving, and caring friends and caregivers, all considered extended family. A special thanks to all. At Dot's request, services will be private. Arrangements through McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org) or to a charity of one's choice. To keep Dot's memory alive, please pay forward her kindness and compassion each and every day.

Just saw this obituary. To the Trotter Children, so sorry of the loss of your mother. I remember both your Mom and Dad when I grew up in Greenwood and was always in the Crystal Pharmacy. Also, I remember when my parents sold our summer house in Hampton many years ago. Janice (Lacey) Carbone
