Dorothy R. Vesel

Dorothy Rita Vesel (née Golebiewski) passed peacefully at the age of 92 on November 27, 2025, at an assisted living facility in Lake County, Ohio. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.

Dorothy was born on January 14, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, to John and Constance Golebiewski (both deceased). She married Mark Vesel on September 5, 1959. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage in the city of Willowick, Ohio, building a beautiful family and a lifetime of happy memories before Mark's passing over 11 years ago.

Throughout her life, Dorothy enjoyed vending and shopping at flea markets in Northeast Ohio. When she was no longer able to visit flea markets on her own, she was happy to experience them through the TV, watching Flea Market Flip on Sunday mornings. Dorothy was an avid reader of mystery novels, a word-search connoisseur, a lifelong film buff, and a loyal Pepsi fan.

Dorothy's greatest sense of purpose was being a mother and taking care of children. In addition to raising her two sons, she actively participated in caring for her three young grandchildren and her great-nephew for many years, finding deep joy in guiding, teaching, and nurturing them through many activities. From infants until they were off to school, to attending countless recitals, sporting events, and award ceremonies, Dorothy was always there. She never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and baker who loved making doll clothes and pajamas and kept her family full of sweet treats every holiday season.

Dorothy's enduring example of love, resilience, and practical wisdom will have a lasting influence on her family, and she will be deeply missed by many.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Mark; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Edwin Tyszka; and Josephine and William Mismas; her nephews Michael and William Mismas; and her niece Debra Jerman. She is survived by her beloved sons, David (Shirley) and John; her grandchildren, Marisa (Dan Schrembeck), Alex, and Kayli; and many nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Visitation on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 9:30am till 10:30am at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11am at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St, Willowick, OH 44095. Dorothy will be laid to rest at All Sols Cemetery in Chardon.
