Dorothy Walling Obituary

Dorothy Faye Walling (Goggie)

Born on April 5th 1930 to Milton Carlisle Bryant and Gertrude Robena Fisher Bryant.

At the ripe old age of sixteen, Dorothy decided school wasn't her passion so she enrolled in Beauty College. Carlton, just home from World War 2, decided to attend Barber College on GI Bill. While awaiting an opening in Barber College, the school advised him to go ahead and start out in Beauty College. This way he'd be the first to transfer in when an opening was available. This is where they met, fell in love and were married shortly thereafter. Dorothy finished Beauty College, got her cosmetology license which she kept for the next seventy-nine years. Dorothy's dad was able to find Carlton a job with Hughes Tool Co. Where he stayed until retirement. Dorothy didn't ever work as a beautician, however every friend and relative received her haircut, perms, and styles for life.

Dorothy and Carlton were members of the Horseless Carriage Club and Greater Houston Old Car Club from 1955 through Carlton's death in 1996. Dorothy continued on with the club until 2016. The last few years were spent reminiscing of the many friends and the grandkids and Carlton had from their time on the road in their motorhome.

Dorothy spent the remainder of her time and life caring for her live in cat, Angel.

Dorothy is survived by her son DeWayne (Kandy); daughter Karla; Grandkids, Koree Mabie(Ryan); Lonnie Walling (Ashley); Kaci Bradley (Justin). Great Grandkids, Kolton Bradley, Kolbi Bradley, Hannah Walling, Lilly Walling, Kash Walling, Emerson Mabie, Failla Mabie, as well as many travelling friends and car club members.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing Dorothy now rests again with the love of her life, Carlton, free from suffering and surrounded by heavenly joy. Her life was a powerful testament to faith, motherhood, and everlasting life.
