Mrs. Dorothy Belle Warren Williams, daughter of the late Deacon Rayfield Warren, Sr., and Deaconess Jimmie Mae Spencer-Warren, was born on May 27, 1947-though her beloved mother fondly claimed her true birthday to be May 7. At an early age, Dorothy confessed Christ and joined Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Graves, Georgia. She received her education through the Terrell County school system and graduated from George Washington Carver High School with the proud Class of 1965.
On July 23, 1966, Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to James L. Williams. Their union was blessed with two children, Lavette Bostic and Christopher Williams. A devoted wife and mother, Dorothy was also a gifted homemaker and a talented seamstress. Her skill and creativity touched the lives of many as she crafted garments for local choirs, wedding parties, and friends while also providing alteration services for her family and the community.
On September 19, 2025, Dorothy transitioned peacefully, receiving her heavenly wings. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Mary Ellen Warren Carroll, Queen Elizabeth Warren Weeks, and Costella Warren Jackson.
Her precious memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband of more than fifty years, James L. Williams; children, Lavette Bostic of Albany, GA, and Christopher (Errol) Williams of Atlanta, GA; and grandson, Sergeant Austin James Anthony, stationed in South Korea.
Dorothy also leaves to celebrate her life: her sisters, Dolph Ann Warren of Jacksonville, FL, and Carolyn W. Marshall of Riverdale, GA; brothers, Rayfield (Ernestine) Warren, Jr., of Panama City, FL, Leonard Warren of Opelika, AL, Curtis Price of Shellman, GA, Larry (Sherry) Holman of Albany, GA, and Gino (Neen) Holman of Hagerstown, MD; sisters-in-law, Jackie Warren and San (Mickey) Singletary, Rhonda (James) Clement, Sharon (Jim) Sheffield-Therrien, Deidre O' Sullivan, and Carol Williams; brothers-in-law, Lyrance Williams, Demetrius Williams, Alvin Williams, and Cedric L.
