Dorothy Williams (83) formerly of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA passed peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Dorothy was the eldest child of the late Richard B. and Dorothy F. (Madden) Williams.

Prior to moving to California in 1995, Dorothy held positions at not-for-profits in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Dorothy made her home in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, where she enjoyed watching her West Coast family grow. She loved living and working in Southern California. She was proud to be the Chief Financial Officer at Westview Services, a not-for-profit helping disabled individuals in Anaheim, CA. Following her retirement in 2014, she served on the Board of Trustees for Westview until 2023. Relocating back to Connecticut in 2022 allowed her to spend her final years close to her East Coast family (known affectionately to her as Scan Clan 1).

Dorothy is survived by her sons David (Deborah) Scanlon of Andover, CT and Jeffrey Scanlon of Miami, FL, her cherished granddaughters Julie Reed, Kara (Chris) Arndt, Erin Scanlon, Amanda Scanlon and Brooke (Liam) Callaghan, her former daughter-in-law Sandra Scanlon, as well as her five great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Mary (Mark) Meyers, Carol Williams, Paul Williams and M. Christina Williams as well as her niece and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers Richard Williams Jr and James Williams.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Family, 185 Church St, Amston, CT 06231.
