Dorothy Wissman Obituary

Dorothy Jean Gregg Wissman, age 94, of Warrensburg, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 in the loving care of her son, Robert and granddaughter, Nicole

Dorothy was born on August 19, 1931, in Independence, Missouri, to Homer V. and Dorothy B. Gregg. She attended and graduated from Warrensburg High School. On August 28, 1949, she married Hillard Wissman at the Swope Park Baptist Church.

Throughout her life, Dorothy was devoted to her family and community. She was a homemaker, worked in the kitchen at Southeast Grade School, and was employed at Regal's Restaurant. She also sold Avon products door to door but spent most of her time helping to tend the family farm. Dorothy was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, participated in the Loyal Neighbors Club, and was involved with the Golden Ages group.
Dorothy is survived by her sons: Robert Wissman of Warrensburg, MO, and Bill Wissman (Wanda) of Warrensburg, MO. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Heather Clark (Rick) of Lee's Summit, MO; Nicole Heaton (Lane) of Warrensburg, MO; Erik Wissman of Lee's Summit, MO; and great-grandchildren: Ayden and Addison Clark, and Cate and Maren Heaton.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Pete Beard.
