Dorothy Dodson Wright

Dorothy Dodson Wright, 83, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at AuthoraCare Hospice in Burlington. A native of Alamance County, she was born on March 6, 1942 to Reginald Dodson and Doris Roberson, both deceased. She was very proud of her time she spent working in the Accounting Department at LabCorp where she was a dedicated employee for many years. She also enjoyed gambling and traveling, especially on cruises and her many beach trips with her girls.

She is survived by her three children; Beverly "Beth" Coble and her husband Tim, Karen Boley and her husband Kelly and David William Shea and his wife Jane; four grandchildren, Daniel Byrd and his wife Sarah, Tyler Boswell and his wife Brooke, Rylee Johnson and her husband Bobby and Makayla Ramos and her husband Alan; nine great grandchildren and 2 great grand dogs. She is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Smith and Frances Leroy. Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by numerous other siblings.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington at 2:00pm with the family receiving friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00pm. The burial will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.
