Miss Dot lived an amazing and meaningful life and was important to so many people.. So many memories and stories of Bobby and me as young boys with Miss Dot at the center of that universe. I was able to visit her in 2017. We sat in the kitchen that holds so many memories, and where she took care of the household, and where she always took care of Mister Bobby. For me as a young boy and Bobby's friend, I got to be just a small part of her amazing life. She was always wise, caring, and kind. Miss Dot has left Ponchatoula with a great legacy and we are all better people for having had her in our lives.

So upset to hear of Ms.Dot's passing. She was truly my second mother. I spent many good times with little Bobby. Mr.Bobby and Ms. Dot treated me like a second son. Being friends with Bobby was a gift I want forget for a second family. Love you Ms. DOT.

So glad we had the privilege of participating in the Birthday Parade!
Only God knows the many lives she touched through the years and made better by her "touch". She was one of a kind in the best of every way.

Miss Dot tought me to be strong with humility and compassion. She fed us late night ham sandwiches while listening to out teenage angst.
Miss Dot used to have an old Chevy she drove for years. She finally treated herself to a brand new T bird, it was her baby! One day while she was substituting at PHS someone put a huge scratch in her brand new car! A short time later while teaching another class a young girl told of seeing a car so beautiful that she had to "key" it! Miss Dot rose abover her anger and used it as a teaching moment. That one act tought a generation of kids at PHS how to treat each other. That was her way.

What a wonderful life your mother had! I feel like i knew her well through the stories Peggy told me. She was so strong, driven, curious, dedicated, kind, and smart. She set goals that she met, like writing the books, kept up with technology, remained a part of the Pontchatoula community, had friends locally and friends from other places, but most importantly she was a loving, giving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Even though she is gone, she lives on in you through all she gave to you. God bless her.
