Dorthy J. Bredthauer

Dorthy was marrying my brother in August 1958 and I was being married in September 1958. At that time both Dorthy and I were living in Lincoln, NE. Both weddings were to be celebrated in the same small Nebraska town and in the same Lutheran church.
Unbeknownst to each other we had purchased identical wedding gowns at a large department store in Lincoln. This became apparent to us when Dorthy showed her gown to me and my mother. Since my wedding was four weeks away, my mother and grandmother had time to rework the bodice and trim of my gown. It looked like a different wedding gown. Our weddings occurred with no one else being the wiser.
Over the years Dorthy and I have shared a number of chuckles regarding our good taste in wedding gowns. She will always be in my heart.
