Douglas A. Kobes, age 72 of Maribel, passed away peacefully at his home, following his long journey with cancer. He was born on November 17, 1953, to the late Joseph and Alice (Petersen) Kobes. Doug graduated from Denmark High School with the class of 1971. Following graduation, Doug joined the United States Marine Corps and served his nation from 1972 to 1974. On May 14, 1977, he married Sue Denor in Mishicot. During his career, Doug worked for Denmark Feed Mill as well as Fred Fels Redi Mix, later Carew Concrete as a cement truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards and occasionally making a trip to the casino. Doug loved taking his yearly trip in June to Long Lake with the Wotruba family, as they had been doing for almost 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sue, daughter, Missy Kobes, his brother Dennis (Andy) Kobes, sisters Sandy (Bill) Fidler and Karla (Steve) Petrich, sisters in law, Sally (Richard) Koch and Sarah (Mike) Samz. Doug is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his daughter, Amy Nysse, his parents and his father and mother in law, Jerome and Marian Denor.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 4 pm to 7 pm, with the service to follow at 7 pm at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Road R, Denmark. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established by the family.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Patel, along with all family, friends and neighbors, for all of the help and care given to Doug and our family during his illness.
