Douglas Gene Bramlett, 56, of Lucas, Texas, passed away on January 7, 2026. Doug was born on October 15, 1969 to Ledon and Charleen Bramlett in Mesquite, Texas. After Doug graduated from Wylie High School in 1988, he went on to study Engineering Technology at Texas A&M University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology/Telecommunications. Doug started his first job at Nortel Networks, kickstarting a 32 year career in Telecommunications.
In 1996, Doug married Jamie Allen Bramlett and together they raised two children, Avery and Cole. Doug enjoyed his years as a volunteer firefighter and Lieutenant for the Lucas Fire Department for 9 years. Doug never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and make friends wherever he went.
Doug is preceded in death by his father, Ledon Bramlett. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jamie, mother Charleen Bramlett, daughter Avery Valdez and husband Antonio, and son Cole Bramlett.
A memorial service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Sachse, Texas, on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2:00 P.M.
