Hello Peggy,Your dad - Doug - always stood out in a crowd. His presence and conversations at family gatherings, were always enjoyable and entertaining. Your dad was special and truly knew how to live life in its fullest - a rare trait and treat ! He will most definitely be missed, however with all the great memories of his life, he will remain alive in the hearts of the many who had the pleasure to know him... Bet he's trying to start a Thumb Fun up in heaven !

RIP Doug. Thoughts and prayers go out to Peggy & your whole sweet family. You were so kind to me during my time at Thumb Fun. You opened your home to me as if I were family, not Just some silly college girl with a summer job. It meant the world to me and showed me about real kindness. You were very gruff on the job because things were tough sometimes, but I always knew you were like a big teddy bear. Those college summers were some of the best in my life, and genuinely taught me lifelong skills for success in my career & in life! You will be missed!

Our condolences to you Peg and Robin and your entire family. Doug was a special guy, always told you like it was. He was a good friend and a great neighbor. Just last summer he was out cutting our grass. We will surely miss him. Loved him dearly and will always remember him.

So sorry for your loss Peg and family. Your dad was a special character. So many fun nights at Thumb Fun with him managing the hysteria. You were his right hand "man". Thoughts, prayers and memories of many nights pulling into that massive dusty gravel driveway for the next adventure will never be forgotten. RIP Doug...

Now there's a guy who wasn't afraid to try anything and was willing to give a chance to anyone!
I truly enjoyed my time knowing him and working for him.
The world could use more Doug Butcharts.
I hope you're enjoying your Monopoly game.

Will be missed. So glad I got to talk to him a couple of months ago.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Marv and I were planning to take a camping trip to Door County this summer to see Doug & Robin. So heartbroken to hear the news.

I would definitely come back for his celebration of life, but I'm leaving for Madagascar March 3rd, so can't. Such a bummer.

My favorite memory of Doug was about my third day of working at Thumb Fun. He yelled at me about something trivial...so I yelled right back at him. From that moment on we got along great. I've enjoyed my visits with him over the past years since TF closed. He will be missed.

My condolences to the family....
