I will miss you, cousin Doug. It has been wonderful to reconnect with you over the last few months as we shared our cancer journeys/battles. I am so very sorry that you lost your battle with this horrible disease. I continue to pray for you and your family. Until we meet again, I love you.

I'm sorry to read about Doug's passing, and I send our condolences to his family. I have two favorite memories of Doug. The first is riding in his red Triumph TR-3 roadster. It inspired me to buy an MGB when I was old enough to drive. And when my MG needed repairs, Doug steered me to his friend and Triumph repair guy, Bob Dean. The other memory I have is of Doug's possession of some Duane Eddy records and my impression that Duane (no relation) was the king of "twangy" guitar. Rest in peace, Doug.

While we were visiting Doug and Claudia they were showing us a cave system that could be explored. It was a rather tight fit but Doug talked me into entering the rather small entrance. I´m a hobbit sized person but still had to duck to get inside. It was very dark and we only had our cell phone lights. It was a great experience and my first real splunking. There was water and ice on the ground and drops of water dripping from the ceiling but with care we made it through. We laughed quite a bit while underground and at times I was a little uncertain we would ever see daylight again. But Doug was confident so I was also. He was a great host and guide for our adventures while visiting Kanab. We will miss his smile, laughter and knowledge of the land.
