Douglas "Drew" Pleasants

 

Douglas “Drew” Pleasants, 69, passed away at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Center on November 22, 2023. Drew was born on October 11, 1954, to Douglas Deane Pleasants and Margie Thomas Pleasants in Alamance County. Following his service in the U.S. Navy, Drew was employed as an aircraft mechanic for both Piedmont and USAir Airlines. Drew enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. He was his grandchildren's favorite babysitter. It was always a contest to see who would fall asleep first. He will be deeply missed for his laughter and wise comebacks. Drew was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his loving daughter, Terri Frappier (Ed); grandchildren, (Lauren Shoemaker (Blake), Mariah Frappier, Olivia Frappier); siblings, (Ken Pleasants (Donna), Lara Shelton (Kevin); former wife Hazel Pleasants, extended family, and many friends. A special thank you to the staff at Bermuda Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care over the last few months. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Kevin Kilbreth officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour (5:00pm – 6:00pm) prior to the service at the funeral home.
