Doug will be sorely missed. Doug and Richard were the first friends I made in Miami when I moved from Chicago in 1985. We were very close for several years, but life and distance keep us apart this past decade. Until we are reunited, memories of the good times we had will have to suffice.

Doug was a dear man and I will miss him. Doug, Richard and I first became friends around 2008. Doug built my first website at his suggestion. He and Richard were both big supporters of me as a performer. When Richard was first diagnosed with dementia, he would play piano, and teach me songs I had not learned yet. Our weekly sessions lasted a couple years. I cherish that time. Sometimes Doug would use the time to run errands or take a nap. Sometimes he would be with us at his desk, quick to serve up his witty quips. Doug was devoted to Richard till the end, and I have a deep respect for his dedication and love for his partner. Doug was also there to help out when my friend, Marcy Singhaus was in hospice at her home in 2020. Doug was a big help and would always "find the funny".
Doug loved cooking for others, spending time with his dog, and keeping a spotless home. Doug was a kind, caring, and funny man. I believe he is with Richard now, and he will make an excellent Angel. My deepest condolences to his family.
