Douglas Wayne Herring

Douglas Wayne Herring, age 40, passed away on July 15, 2024, in Gatesville. Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. The family will hold a private burial. 

Douglas “Doug” was born on August 6, 1983, to the late John W. and Doris Herring. Doug was born in Clifton, Texas and was raised in Gatesville. Doug helped his father in the plumbing industry and was a truck driver for many years. The love of his life was his daughter Kolbie Lane (Junior) who he raised. He loved gardening and tinkering with just about anything. He was a lover of animals, especially his dog Hooey. Doug loved to listen to music, particularly old country. He will be remembered for having a giving heart and his playful nature. 

Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Kayla Dawn Campbell.

Doug is survived by his daughter, Kolbie; sisters Joanie Campbell and husband, Mike and Ginger Belknap; and many numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Scott’s Funeral Home in Douglas’ name to assist with the cost of funeral services.
