My first memory of Doug was when he would ride his Norton past my house almost daily I was about 12 or 13 and Doug would many times blast by the house with the Norton the Chevelle just to see us kids loving it. A TIME I will never forget, we went riding one day,Doug, me, Russ, Billy and Gary and back then blasting through People's Forest we came up on a turn way too fast and Doug didn't make the corner and rode straight into a swamp, mud, skunk cabbage, soaked and once we found out he was ok we laughed our &$%÷?×! #]'s off days afterwards
I have to say the the greatest gift he gave me was working on cars and being true to your passion
I love him and will never forget him
RIP Dougy

Although grief hurts when losing a steadfast friend of 65+ years, the memories help overcome the grief. Thanks for the memories Doug. "All Day Music" forever will put a smile on my face!

When we were young, growing up in Moravia Woods, we would chase butterflies down at Cayces...ride motorcycles...one time Doug had just tuned the carbs on his Triumph Bonneville and he wanted to see how it would run - I rode my brother's (Jac) Norton Atlas... as we made a left on Climax Rd. and rode toward the Simsbury line we opened up...about a half mile later we heard a siren, saw flashing lights, unmarked Simsbury police...we pulled over and he said, "you're speeding, racing, riding two abreast..." I told him Doug had just tuned his carbs and we wanted to see what she would do..."you were pulling away from me and I was doing 90!!!" We apologized and he just shook his head thru his ticket pad in the cruiser and drove off...
