Douglas Wendell Klahn

Douglas Wendell Klahn, age 61, of Treynor, IA, passed away in Council Bluffs, on June 8, 2025.

Doug was born October 23, 1963, in Council Bluffs, to Wendell and Maxine (Brockman) Klahn and graduated from Treynor High School where he participated in basketball and football. Following high school, Doug received his BA from Iowa State University. On June 1, 1991, Doug was united in marriage to Kelley (Richardson).

His working career spanned over 20 years at First National Bank of Omaha, and most recently working for the Treynor Community Schools. Doug was a former member of the Treynor School Board, Iowa West Foundation, Golden Hills Board, and is a member of First Christian Church in Council Bluffs.

Doug is preceded in death by his sister, Denise Klahn in 2001; and his mother, Maxine in 2010.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Kelley of Treynor, IA; son, Alex Johnson, of Lawrence, KS; daughter, Sarah Goos and husband Clayton, of Silver City, IA; three grandchildren, Cora, Caleb and Clara; father, Wendell Klahn and wife Jinni, of Treynor; brother, Dan Klahn and wife Connie, of New Jersey; mother-in-law, Sue Richardson, of Colorado; father-in-law, Don Richardson and wife Pat, of Kansas.

Visitation with the family, Friday, 4 to 7 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Memorial Service, Saturday, 10 a.m., at First Christian Church in Council Bluffs, with a luncheon to follow at the Treynor Community Center.

Doug will be laid to rest in the Zion Cemetery in Treynor.
