Douglas A. Moody, 82, of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026. Born on February 5, 1944, in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Marion Moody. Raised in Syracuse, NY, he and his family shared a deep love for Skaneateles Lake, where they spent much of their lives making lasting memories. It became a cherished home base, enjoyed and passed down through four generations.

Doug is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Susan Moody, whom he married on March 14, 1975. He is also survived by his daughters, Melissa Moody Walsh (Sean) and Erin Moody; his beloved grandson and mini me, Connor Douglas; his treasured Goldendoodle Ruby; his sister-in-law, Della; and his cherished nieces Debbie, Denise, Desiree, Jenny, Samantha and Melora. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Charles Moody Jr. and Don Mac Moody.

Doug built a long and dedicated career with R.J. Reynolds, where he worked as a sales rep for 30 years before retiring at the age of 55. Retirement suited him well-he embraced every moment with humor and a deep love for his family and friends. Known affectionately as the family "camp director," he enjoyed hosting family and friend gatherings, tending to backyard fires in the family fire pit, and sharing jokes with anyone lucky enough to cross his path. His playful spirit and easy laughter became a signature part of who he was.

He found joy in spending time with those he loved, visiting Amish Country, and staying active at the local Y. Whether traveling, reminiscing about his Syracuse roots, or creating memories at home, Doug lived with a generosity of heart that touched everyone around him.

Doug will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the unwavering love he held for his family. His presence made life brighter, and his memory will continue to warm the hearts of all who knew him.

In keeping with his wishes, Doug will be cremated and laid to rest privately at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio.
