Douglas Nelson Price

Douglas Nelson Price, 96, of Port Huron, passed away on November 7, 2025.
He was born April 22, 1929, in Plymouth Indiana to the late Ralph and Martha (Hillis) Price. He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1947 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics from DePauw University in Greencastle Indiana in 1951 where he was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity. From 1951-53, he served in the Counter Intelligence Division of the United States Army.
Doug married Barbara Jane Thomas on August 22, 1953, at Grace Episcopal Church. They were married for 70 years before she preceded him in death on May 18, 2024.
Doug was a stockbroker for over 30 years with much of that time spent at AG Edwards & Sons where he was the manager of the Port Huron office from 1972-1992. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church having served as a member of the vestry and as the senior and junior Warden for many years. He was the past President of the Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Exchange Club, member of the Kiwanis Club and member of Port Huron Golf Club just to name a few. He also served as a Trustee on the board of the St. Clair County Community College for 12 years. Doug was also a lifelong member of the YMCA and was a mason with the Port Huron #58 Free and Accepted Masons.
He is lovingly remembered by his two children, Thomas (Holly) Price and Mary Ann (Alan) Whitehall; grandchildren, Emma (Trevor) Forde, Madeline (Robert) Romzek and Andrew (Julia) Whitehall; great grandsons, Jack Romzek and Colin Forde; sister, Diana (Eldon) Marks; many nieces and nephews; as well as his nephew, David (Pam) Thomas, whom he had a very close personal and professional relationship with.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial-Smith Chapel, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron, MI 48060. A memorial and masonic service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 1213 6th St, Port Huron, MI 48060. The Reverend Shadrack Owuor will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the YMCA of Port Huron or St. Clair County Community College.
