Douglas Rarrick Obituary
Born in Corning, NY, on January 13, 1945, Douglas was a master of trades, having worked as an Electrician and a Process Tech in the Glass Manufacturing industry, notably with Corning Inc., from where he retired. He loved spending time outdoors and especially with his family. He enjoyed all the sweets and home cooked meals he could and always had a good story to tell from his rebel years.
Douglas leaves behind a loving family who will always carry on "Dougie's" memory, including his children: Michael (Holly) Rarrick, Michele (Nate) Galligan, and Carey (Chris) Hall; his brother, Ron Nelson; his fiancé, MaryLou Schwartz; his grandchildren, Amber (Shawn) Thompson, Derek (Kristen) Rodbourn, Michael (Aimee) Rarrick, Tanner (Madison) Rarrick, Jenna Hall, and Marysa Hall; and his great-grandchildren: Kyleigh Rodbourn, Brantlee & Colt Thompson, and Ethan & Garrett Romanki. He now joins his parents, Seth Rarrick and Shirley Nelson, and his brother, Ricky Nelson, in eternal rest.
Douglas Rarrick's life was full of love, laughter, and a whole lot of fishing. His memory will be kept alive through the stories we share and the moments we remember.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 3:00-6:00 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. 1st Street, Corning, NY, 14830.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Douglas' name to the Dementia Society of America.
